what is really amazing is the price that product are sold for in different areas of the world. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be giving this outfit my credit card numbers for any discount. Let the buyer beware!

It's not the manufacturers entire fault; its the distributor. Somewhere along the distribution chain of their products a 3M distributor has divereted 3M products to a non-distributor. This is the problem. If this distribution problem could be solved there would be no grey market. It's the distributor not the manufacturer or the dentists fault. If you want to avoid the grey market avoid the distributor and buy direct.

Not sure if I would blame the distributor on this one, I may be bias though :).  From what I have seen not to many customers turn down getting the same product at half the value.  It's all based on money.  The distributor in another country sees a way to make more money by selling to unauthorized dealers in other countries and makes a profit, then the dealer sells to the dentist making more of a profit then they would have selling the same product but buying it legit, then the dentist makes more of a profit on his patient.  How to stop these things? Personally I think if I product is sold to the dealers in the USA at xxxx price it should be sold throughout the whole world at the same price.

Hi Andrew,

I agree that the manufacturers issue the wholesale prices and let the products go out there. They are trying to get sales in a depressed market. The distributing companies have to make something on the items to market and sell them! Depends on their overheads. Most try to maintain decent profit margins.

I have just returned from Europe. You think things are bad in North America? Just wait....All wealthy Italians are bailing out of Italy with their money and France will be next!

It is obvious that the world is now catching "down"(not UP!) to realistically selling at Asian prices.

Lets face it the worlds global ecomony woes have been mostly started through the massive oil industries greed causing delivery, food, clothing, housing etc as well as manufacturing costs to spiral out of control. The goverments never will tell us there is any price fixing because they are involved in getting monthly rebate checks!!!
