What did you think of the Greater New York Meeting?
Well the last big meeting of 2009 is over. What did everyone think of the Greater NY meeting? It certainly seemed like there were less vendors and some of the companies had scaled down booths. However the meeting seemed very busy and when I say busy people were buying.
Wish I had more time to stop by and chat with all of the loyal DSP members. We all work very hard at these meetings.

I couldn't believe how small the dental implant booths were. However, the exhibitors were busy, and people were buying. I even had a dentist standing in front of me during my 40 min wait to obtain my namebadge mention that she was going to buy a cone beam machine.
Monday morning was very quiet, but things picked up in the afternoon.... I must say that after attending Sunday and Monday, I was exhausted!

Ah yes, Straumann and NobelBiocare really scaled back their booths. Sorry that I missed you there Joe. Do you have any photos of the Schein / Oral care can't wait breakfast?

We had a very strong NY meeting. Our location improved from last year which helped. Overall it seemed much busier this year except for the last day of the meeting which was slower than I remember. Good to see all my friends in NYC.

We didn't break any records but overall the show was very good for us. Our busy days were Sunday and Wednesday, believe it or not. What struck me the most about the meeting were comments by various independent reps that they were no longer attending the entire meeting. Also, one independent that has attended the meeting for many, many years in a row decided not to come this year...

I think those Independents made a mistake this year. You could certainly skip Monday and Tuesday and not miss too much, but Sunday and Wednesday are still very busy.

Am I'm the only rep that was following DSP on Twitter in NYC !???????? (Looks like I'll have to set up a blog and get you guys together)
Got to work with Kevin Henry (yes everyone works hard) and see many MANY friends -in this ever growing industry. Seems I'm getting older haha (you might see in the future)

I think so. My conclusion is that the dental industry is behind the times when it comes to social media. Not any of us of course. Mark, your booth look great. I spoke with someone at your booth that said you were trying out a couple different booth options. I remember when Premier's booth got wacked by the storm in Atlanta. Sorry I could meet you in person. We could talk cars:)

Thanks - Premier had a great meeting! I thought people came to see me - it was the Traxodent !!
Sorry we didn't connect (Pun intended) - as there is no reason in this day to not. (to some degree I think conventions DO allow us to get away from the "meet you in 5" text's etc etc) The "let's see who is at ....." and groups by gathering works too.

Aseptico had a decent meeting, with Sunday and Wednesday being our best days on the retail side.
