Great acquisition for Midmark!
And the Progeny reps become....?
I know some were independents
Midmark, they are a great group. I worked with them on a healthcare clinic installation....very customer service oriented.
Progeny Reps whether independent or not will stay Progeny reps for now. Everything will stay in Chicago for now. This was rumored last year and I'm glad it finally came to fruition. I think this was a good move for Midmark.
Hasn't this been rumored for years?? Midmark is a big diverse company. I have meet with the CEO, Dr. Anne Eiting Klamar, and she is a very savvy executive. Of course, the manager of the dental division, Eric Shirley is a class act as well.
DI called this a long time ago.
Midmark has almost always done a first class job of assimilating acquisitions smoothly and imparting their culture to the acquired company. They are diligent in their processes and I expect this to be a very nice complement to their business
I am curious with Danaher owning Gendex and Midmark now owning Prodgeny will Adec be in the market for an X-Ray company to keep pace?
I am curious to see how Schein handles this. As you know they are in pretty deep with Danaher, will Midmark put pressure on them to sell the Progeny X rays? Only time will tell.
Schein does sell Progeny x-ray units today. Progeny sells through most dealers, and I guess they will continue to do so.
I think the more interesting long-term questions is this: will consolidation of dental manufacturers swing some of the power away from the dental distributors? Danaher has has quite an impact o the way Schein does business, and we may end up with a handful of equipment manufacturing conglomerates. During my 15 years in dental, distributors were merging constantly, and the manufacturers have had to bow down to them. Will this change?
Schein sells DEXIS, and Patterson sells Schick. Are there any other digital senors that are exclusive to a distributor?
