Is PW still owned by Kodak or by Carestream? My understanding is that Carestream is the new owner of the Kodak products...at least the sensors.

In mid 2003 Eastman Kodak acquired PracticeWorks Inc.. Kodak paid $21.50 in cash for each common share of PracticeWorks outstanding, or about $382.7 million. In addition, Kodak paid $7.33 for each Series B preferred share, plus about $34 million in assumed debt and transaction fees, bringing the total deal value to approximately $500 million in cash.

In 2007 Carestream was formed when ONEX purchased Kodak Medical & Dental. Kodak Dental is now part of Carestream.

I heard several rumors last week that Kodak Dental had a RIF (Reduction in Force) that affected some management and 25 to 50 other employees. So far it’s just a rumor. I am hoping to find facts to support that rumor or squelch it.

I think that Kodak in and of itself does not exist. It's more like an umbrella that comprises PW & CS which have very different lines of thought. I am never sure which division to call, but the folks at CS have really been pretty cordial with independents. PW is more self-serving. It also depends on which line of equipment is in question. Kind of confusing really.
