Great analogy! After the first time that I saw what you could do with digital radiography on Eaglesoft, I can't believe anyone is still using film.Did you just sell them the digital radiography or were you able to sell him the practice management software as well. From my understanding, it is the hope of Patterson that the whole reason that they are giving away eaglesoft is to boost their digital radiography sales. Not to mention that dentist are proned to take anything that is free!

It blows my mind that I still take orders for film...out of my 65 clients, 52 of them are digitized. I've done informal polls where I ask the doctors "if I were to take your digital away and give you all your money back, would you do it?" None of them have ever taken me up on my offer!

Biggest complaint...too expensive,which it is...it'll get cheaper,which it will...not enough competition from mfgs.,which there will be as the industry grows, and I've aleady invested in all this X-Ray equipment and processing equipment so maybe when it starts to decline I'll consider digital.
It's easier to sell digital to the new setup.
